Shepherd of the Hills, St. Olaf, Iowa:  Donations of food and essentials are collected at the local churches for the needy and delivered to St. Olaf Shepherd of the Hills.  From there it is distributed as need.  FCC McGregor is a recognized leader in donating to this cause.
Meals on Wheels:  One week each month each local church takes a turn delivering meals to elderly shut-ins.
Ecumenical Services:

Easter Sunrise Service:  Usually held at Pike's Peak Park overlooking the Mississippi as the sun rises on a new Easter morning.  A great experience, despite being a bit cold sometimes.
Lenten Services:  Local churches gather together at one of the churches for special services or programs.  Each church has a different function each season.  Responsibilities alternate for different services.

    World Day of Prayer:
The World Day of Prayer service was held at First Congregational Church of McGregor Iowa on Friday, March 5th at 1:30 PM. World Day of Prayer (WDP) is a worldwide ecumenical movement of women of many faith traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer each year on the first Friday in March. Each year a different country serves as the writer of the World day of Prayer worship service.   For 2010, the women of Cameroon developed the theme, Let everything that has breath praise God.   WDP's motto, Informed prayer leads to prayerful action, affirms that prayer and action are inseparable and that both have immeasurable influence.  Click one of the following pictures to see more pictures.

Social Squares: Small groups of members who get together at least once a month for fellowship and fun. They either go out for a meal or gather in a member's home. It provides a way for members to get to know each other and build friendships.   Check out some pictures of  Social Squares Gatherings.

Health Kits for those in need from disasters:  We gathered together on January 30, 2010 to assemble health kits to be sent to people who have gone through a disaster around the world, such as the didaster in Haiti.  The items were donated by the members of FCC McGregor.  The kits will be sent to Church World Service to be distributed as needed when disaster strikes..  A potluck dinner was provided with a Super Bowl theme using food, clothing and decoration colors of the Saints and Colts.  Who says work, food and fun can't go together.   Here are just a few sample pictures of the church members enjoying food and fun while helping a great cause.
